Ceramic art, as a whole, is not singularly supported by the history of the vessel. Elaboration through multiple medias is a direction and a current trend in contemporary ceramics. Many artists are using material that may confuse the viewer, making them wonder, “where is the clay”. A pan-disciplinary art world continues to blur the lines of traditional mediums. My own work stretches from functional to sculptural and mixes media which has direct connections with my own story. I use imagery to narrate personal history and form to mimic natural landscapes. The combination's intent is to express the simple beauty inherent in fire born ceramics and everyday visual scenes.
